The IOM Technologist performs a preoperative assessment of the patient and conducts intraoperative sensory and motor tests using currently accepted electrophysiological techniques. Data is compiled, interpreted, and communicated in real-time. The IOM Technologist completes post-operative reports and billing forms. The purpose of this testing is to reduce the incidence of post-operative neurological deficits. Under the supervision of the clinical manager, the IOM Technologist is responsible for patient consultation, equipment setup, intraoperative monitoring, documentation, and additional duties as assigned.
