In this role, the Neurophysiology Technician will have an Intraoperative focus on populations of all age groups, however primarily encompassing adult patients of ages fourteen and older. Able to set up patient for Operating Room monitoring with minimal supervision, including effectively and cooperatively with surgical and anesthesia teams. Able to perform electrode application in pharmacologically paralyzed patient. Scrupulous observance of sterile protocols in Operating Room. Ability to electrode application and use of needle electrodes for intraoperative stimulation and recording. The shift for this position is 11:00 am - 7:00 pm plus on-call and weekend coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Set up patient for Operating Room monitoring with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively and cooperatively work with surgical and anesthesia teams.
  • Perform electrode application in pharmacologically paralyzed patients.
  • Observe sterile protocols in the Operating Room.
  • Apply electrodes and use needle electrodes for intraoperative stimulation and recording.

Requirements

  • Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostics Technologists (ABRET).
  • At least 3 years experience performing EEG, Intraoperative or Evoked Potential.
  • Graduation from an accredited neuroelectrodiagnostic training program or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduation from an accredited electroneurodiagnostic technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)).
