The Intra Operative Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs procedures on patients as requested by a physician for diagnosis. This position is dedicated to the Operating Room 50% of the time and involves performing high-quality intraoperative procedures according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. The technologist maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures, demonstrating understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring, and taking action if the estimated dose exceeds set levels. The role also includes utilizing AIDET to communicate with patients, identifying patient service needs, and ensuring the correct exam is performed on the correct patient. The technologist prepares the patient and area for the procedure, positions the patient, adjusts immobilization devices, and moves equipment into position. Additionally, the technologist protects patients and employees by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.

  • Perform high-quality intraoperative procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
  • Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.

  • Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Protect patients and employees by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Report issues to management or appropriate department.
  • Assist in maintaining supplies inventory.
  • Ensure people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
  • Maintain medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies.
  • Must have ARRT and TX license.
  • 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Experience with OR Fluoro, C-ARM, outpatient, and portables.
  • Experience in OR and GEOEC.
