About The Position

This position will be a main point of contact providing support and instruction in core academic areas to students in pursuit of attaining a high school equivalency diploma. This position is located within the academic school at Richmond Correctional Institution, Hoffman, NC (Richmond County). Reporting to the School Principal, the Interventionist will serve as a core member of the academic team in fulfilling and monitoring the school's vision, mission, core values, and goals, and should be competent at organizing and delivering education curricula to groups of student offenders of all ages in effective ways to create a flexible program and environment favorable to learning and personal growth in accordance with the ability of each student offender housed in a medium custody male correctional facility as well as completing or performing any additional duties as assigned by the principal. The purpose of this position is to teach content focused on increasing basic skills in core reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics areas through individual, small group, and whole class instruction as well as providing targeted remediation and enrichment as needed. The intent of this position is to provide direct remedial instruction to offenders aged 18 to 22 for the purpose of attaining a high school equivalency diploma.
