About The Position

The Interventionist - MLE position is designed to provide support to the instructional program by assisting teachers and administration in delivering prevention and intervention services to students with behavioral issues. The role focuses on coordinating the BIST models with at-risk youth and proactively addressing students' needs to maintain a calm and supportive school environment.

Requirements

• Job-related experience is required.
• Targeted, job-related education with study in a job-related area is necessary.
• 60 College Credit Hours AND Missouri Substitute or Teaching Certificate are required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with BIST model and CPI techniques.
• Knowledge of physical and emotional development of children and adolescents.
• Understanding of mental health issues.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers in managing students whose behavior is out-of-control to maintain a calm school environment.
• Communicates with various personnel to express concerns, resolve issues, and develop plans for student success.
• Facilitates prevention and intervention protocols for identified, at-risk students to address behavioral issues.
• Intervenes with chronic offenders to de-escalate crisis situations and return students to regular studies.
• Maintains a variety of confidential and non-confidential records to document activities in compliance with policies.
• Maintains a visible presence on campus to increase student awareness of program and support services.
• Provides individual and group support to students and parents to prevent and resolve behavioral issues.
• Responds to inquiries from internal and external sources to provide information and direction as needed.
• Utilizes district-approved behavior management techniques to assist students in participating fully in the educational setting.

Benefits

• Salary of $18.88 per hour.
• Full-time position with 171 days per year and 7.5 hours per day.
