About The Position

Under the direction of a radiologist or physician performs advanced procedures including Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery and Neuro endovascular surgery. This multi-specialty position requires the team member to be cross-trained in all areas. The technologist will perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Requirements

  • Education - Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Experience - One (1) year experience in Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, or Diagnostic Radiology. May consider clinical rotations during a formal educational program as experience.
  • Registered in primary modality within 18 months
  • ARRT registered
  • SCRQSA certification (Required for team members working in South Carolina)
  • BLS certification
  • Operation of diagnostic imaging equipment/computers
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Basic computer skills
  • Data entry
  • Mathematical skills

  • Epic radiant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs all advanced procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
  • Assists Radiologists and/or Physician with invasive procedures using aseptic/sterile technique.
  • Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
  • Prepares room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol.
  • Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
  • Ensures the implementation of appropriate radiation safety protocols.
  • Implements emergency procedures, as needed.
  • Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job.
  • Enters and records data accurately and promptly.
  • Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
  • Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes/updates by checking email on each shift.
  • Participates independently in call rotation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
