About The Position

Interventional Radiology Technologist Advanced imaging technologist in an expanded role performing specific exams and procedures utilizing highly specialized skills, and techniques, while under the supervision of a physician. Provide patient care and follow up appropriate to an assigned group of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in more than one area as assigned, while producing high quality images utilizing all imaging modalities. Conduct patient assessment and monitoring. Provide contrast or radiopharmaceutical administration with patient assessment and follow up information. Oversee patient scheduling, obtain and disseminate appropriate medical information. Demonstrate all necessary skills and knowledge of section computer and/or equipment technology. Ability to provide input with leadership within the imaging department. Directly supervise students. Complete student competency and performance evaluations as well as organize student labs as required. Maintain certification according to State, National and Medical Center regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or regionally accredited and approved School of Radiologic Technology. A four-year program is preferred.
  • Experience in the Radiologic Technology Sciences and/or area of specialization required.
  • Demonstrates advanced skills in modality.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills, performs tasks to aid with department improvements and maintain department for appropriate safety and superior patient experience.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must be licensed by the State of Florida to operate ionizing and non-ionizing imaging equipment according to MAQ, Joint Commission and ALARA standards.
  • CPR/BLS in accordance to Halifax Health policies required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions; accurate and timely assessment of patient condition and vital signs.
  • Knowledgeable in oral and written communication skills: computer fundamentals; anatomy/physiology; cross-sectional anatomy; radiographic pathology; patient monitoring and equipment; defibrillation; and other special recording/imaging equipment.
  • Must be skilled in providing care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
