About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute, one of the world’s most respected healthcare organizations, as they expand with a new, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. This advanced building is designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions, bringing every stage of care under one roof with dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, ICU, and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, and rehabilitation services. As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will be a sub-specialized, critical thinking caregiver supporting cutting-edge therapies. You will assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided neurovascular procedures, including diagnostic arteriography, angioplasty, stenting, embolization, and thrombolysis. Utilizing fluoroscopic equipment, you will capture images of the cerebral vasculature to diagnose and treat neurovascular abnormalities, significantly improving patients' quality of life. This role offers the opportunity to substantially advance existing imaging skills and master new ones, such as sterile technique and assisting with interventional procedures. The position is full-time, working days (M-F) from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with rotating on-call responsibilities for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing
  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment, so as to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy
  • Thorough knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams
  • Must be knowledgeable of sterile technique with ability to create and maintain sterile environment
  • Ability to function well with minimal to no supervision, especially during after hours call-in emergency service

Responsibilities

  • Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.
  • Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.
  • Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.
  • Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.
  • Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.
