Requirements

  • Completed accredited Radiology Technology Program
  • At least one year's experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team
  • Must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registered.
  • Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license or registry eligible.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration must be obtained within 12 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support
  • Rotation is required to ensure 24/7 coverage
  • May be expected to rotate to various shifts.
  • Must be able to stay past scheduled hours when necessary to complete procedure

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Radiologists: Collaborate with Radiologists to perform interventional procedures, including room/equipment setup and patient preparation.
  • Procedure Performance & Imaging: Conduct and support complex imaging procedures (e.g., interventional radiology, angiography) utilizing specialized equipment and ALARA principles.
  • Patient Care: Greet, assess, educate, and ensure patient comfort and safety from pre- to post-procedure.
  • Documentation & Safety: Maintain thorough patient/procedure records, manage equipment, and adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and quality protocols.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and provide feedback to enhance teamwork.
  • Environment & Supply Management: Ensure a clean and safe work environment, address supply/equipment issues, and transport patients as needed.
  • Schedule Coordination: Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure adequate staffing levels.
