About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist II to join our imaging department at our University of Minnesota - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN! This is a casual position that will work as needed. Day/evening/night/call shifts available. Minimum requirement is working 2 shifts/month. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11pm – 7am, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $8.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. The Interventional Radiology Technologist II assists physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, and more. Using sophisticated fluoroscopic equipment, you’ll be responsible for capturing images of the blood vessels post processing images.

Requirements

  • Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
  • Current BLS Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 yrs. Interventional Radiology experience
  • Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiac and Vascular (CV) or equivalent certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures with technical accuracy in a timely manner.
  • Position patients, as required to achieve quality diagnostic images, according to departmental protocol.
  • Scrubbing in to assist provider with wire handling, device deployment, and ancillary equipment usage.
  • Ensure proper patient identification on all images and complete all Procedural documentation according to departmental policies including proper image marking, Post procedural imaging processing, scheduling, tracking, and accurately entering procedural charges.
  • Know procedural appropriate supplies and related charges.
  • Demonstrates proper sterile technique.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new employees and students.
  • Participates in the departmental quality assurance and quality improvement plan, following all appropriate protocols.
  • Provide appropriate patient care during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain rooms and properly operate and care for imaging equipment.
