About The Position

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist works under the supervision of the physician who is performing the procedures. He/She provides radiologic care and services to patients, prepares and operates X-ray and recording equipment to produce specialized X-rays of the vascular and circulatory systems of the human body for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The Interventional Radiologic Technologist applies professional skills to a patient population of all ages; ensures that the Radiology department meets accrediting agency and ARRT standards and achieves the Singing River Health System objectives. Expectation is for all performed duties to be in accordance with Singing River Health System procedures and policies, accreditation organization, and governing guidance and publications for health care employees. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited, state approved, School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must be currently licensed as Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Must maintain a minimum of 24 Continuing Education credits in each two (2) year period as required by ARRT in Radiology.
  • Must be licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health.
  • Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
  • Must possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
  • Must possess proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient) and other office technology (i.e., telephone, fax, etc.), MS Outlook and Word.
  • Must be able to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages.
  • Must demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities.
  • Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
  • Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations is required.
  • Must have the ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of six (6) months experience in Special Procedures is preferred.
