Directly or indirectly, you'll have exposure to cutting-edge technology and groundbreaking medical research. $65/hr 13-week assignment Unit performs image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for a broad range of services for patients with cancer, pain, diabetes, liver, kidney, and other conditions. Interventional radiology is a medical sub-specialty of radiology utilizing minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. The concept behind interventional radiology is to diagnose and treat patients using the least invasive techniques currently available in order to minimize risk to the patient and improve health outcomes.

Requirements

  • RN License
  • Moderate sedation experience
  • BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum (2) years RN strong ICU experience
  • current IR experience
  • shift time: 7:30 am-6 pm
  • M-F: 10-hour shifts (0700- 1800)
  • No set schedule, no Block scheduling, Rotating day off
  • 3 to 4 call shifts in 6 6-week period to include weekday/weekend/holiday
  • Holiday: per unit need
  • Weekend: will cover call on the weekend

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating and coordinating programs that may include hospital inpatients, outpatients, families, community, and employees of both the hospital and the university by providing evidence-based care based on the nursing process, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
  • Providing direction to/management of other team members to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care.
  • Working collaboratively with and providing leadership for a multidisciplinary health care team to support program initiatives that support quality, safety, and excellence in care.
  • Participating in promoting and identifying quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) that support, protect, and promote the area of specialty.
  • Initiating and participating in the research activities relevant to the specialty area.
  • Implementing initiatives in the area of specialty as directed by nursing and medical leadership.
  • Fostering a clinical environment of service excellence.
