About The Position

The Interventional Radiology Nurse plays a critical role in the healthcare team, providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of radiological techniques and patient management, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout their treatment. The nurse will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Current RN License with experience in interventional radiology and Cath Lab
• Proficient in catheterization, IV insertion, and patient assessment
• Knowledge of acute pain management and medication administration
• Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems, including Epic and Cerner
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for interventional procedures by conducting assessments and obtaining medical histories.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after procedures.
• Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to patient care and procedures.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding procedures, recovery, and post-operative care.
• Monitor vital signs and manage acute pain effectively throughout the procedure.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including sterile processing and proper handling of equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
