About The Position

Synergy Radiology Associates is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the team in Houston, TX, covering M-F from 8a-5p from October 1, 2025, to January 1, 2026, with PRN coverage needed for vacation after that. The role involves performing procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, venous access, biopsies, and lumbar punctures, assisting in direct patient care services, and supporting the outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, facilitating patient procedures, ordering and interpreting laboratory studies, and educating patients about their care. The position is part of a large sub-specialized radiology practice with over 100 radiologists, providing services across multiple facilities in Texas and beyond.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas.
  • Graduate of an accredited program.
  • At least one year of Physician Assistant experience is a plus but not required.
  • Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants.
  • Certified to perform Basic Life Support and ACLS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, venous access, biopsies, and lumbar punctures.
  • Assist in direct patient care services, including inpatient and outpatient consults and follow-ups.
  • Support the outpatient Interventional Radiology clinic and perform necessary duties.
  • Perform physical examinations, determine medical histories, diagnose and treat illnesses and/or injuries.
  • Facilitate patients for procedures including pre-authorizations and coordinating with facilities.
  • Process orders and send reports back to referring doctors.
  • Perform or assist in fluoroscopic studies.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and radiographic studies.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
  • Perform history and physical examinations and consents of radiology patients.
  • Communicate with referring physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient management.
  • Educate patients regarding their procedures and care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
