About The Position

Saint Joseph Health System (SJHS) and Michiana Interventional and Vascular Services (MIVS), LLC are seeking a fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join a busy practice located in Mishawaka, Indiana. The selected candidate will perform 100% Interventional Radiology (IR) services, which includes responsibilities for CTA, MRA, and vascular lab studies. This position offers a unique blend of hospital-based practice along with protected IR clinic time, and the opportunity to become a shareholder in the thriving Legacy Vein Clinic. The dedicated clinic time is structured as 1:4 days, allowing for a balanced work schedule. Daily responsibilities encompass a wide range of procedures including work in Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), Interventional Oncology (utilizing SIR-Sphere and Therasphere, chemoembolization, and thermal and cryo-ablations), Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE), vertebral augmentation, central venous access (including ports, IVC filters, and central venous stenting/reconstruction), biliary, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary interventions, dialysis access maintenance, occasional Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) procedures, as well as standard non-vascular drainage procedures and biopsies. A PICC team is available onsite to assist with procedures. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, featuring both Philips and Siemens Fluoroscopy suites, three high-end Siemens Ultrasound units, a dedicated CT scanner for IR biopsies, and a 20-bed pre-post procedure patient care unit. MIVS, LLC operates the Legacy Vein Clinic, which is a busy facility located adjacent to the IR department in the Medical Office Building of the hospital. This clinic offers various vein treatments including Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), VenaSeal, Sclerotherapy, and Phlebectomy, and is recognized as the only IAC accredited vein center in the State of Indiana. The current IR section consists of three CAQd IR physicians, a clinical nurse for inpatient rounding and management, dedicated scheduling resources for hospital procedures, and a full clinic staff. The call schedule is 1:4, covering one non-trauma hospital. Candidates must possess Board Certification or Board Eligibility and an Indiana State License. This position is open to 2023 graduating fellows, making it an exciting opportunity for the right Interventional Radiologist to join the Saint Joseph Health System.
