About The Position

The Interventional Radiology/Neuro Special Procedures Technologist position at Texas Health Plano involves working in a newly built Second Hybrid Neuro room and participating in a comprehensive stroke certification program. The role includes the opportunity to cross-train within Heart & Vascular and offers employer-sponsored specialty certification for Interventional Radiology to enhance training and professional development.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Applied Science required OR
• Completion of accredited program in Cardiovascular Technology required OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of work experience in invasive cardiology required.
• 1 year of vascular or cardiac angiography preferred.
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire required.
• GMRT - General Medical Radiologic Technologist If ARRT Only Upon Hire preferred.
• RCIS—Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist—Obtain within 6 months of hire if graduated from Cardiovascular Accredited Program.
• LMRT—Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist—If you have RCIS certification only.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• ACLS—Advanced Cardiac Life Support—within 90 days of hire required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of vascular or cardiac angiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures to patient or guardian/family member prior to exam.
• Performs complex procedures including age-related criteria and developmental considerations.
• Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Correctly sends and transfers images to PACS.
