About The Position

The AMI Vascular Institute is seeking a Per Diem Interventional Radiology Technologist to join the team in the Galloway and Somerdale Vascular Institute locations. At AMI, our Technologists assist with a variety of procedures, assist in patient preparation, and oversee the coordination of supplies and equipment. AMI offers the 401K retirement benefit to Per Diem employees. Offered rates increase based on years of work experience. Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must have a New Jersey X-ray License and are ARRT certified in Radiography.
  • Candidates must have hands-on experience in the areas of interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization lab, or other endovascular experience.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required (must include hands-on instruction) prior to the start of employment.
  • Candidates must be flexible with rotation to our other offices within the region.
  • Qualified candidates possess and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, fostering a patient focused & team centered environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Interventional Radiologist during various interventional procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, biopsies, and other vascular and non-vascular interventions.
  • Prepares and maintains sterile fields, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
  • Operates fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and other imaging equipment to guide procedures.
  • Adjusts and controls the imaging equipment to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Prepares patients for procedures, including positioning, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Assists patients on and off examination tables, using appropriate lift assist devices as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of procedures, patient information, and equipment usage.
  • Ensures all documentation is timely and compliant with office policies using the RIS system.
  • Performs regular maintenance and quality checks on interventional radiology equipment.
  • Reports any malfunctions or safety hazards to the Sr. Chief IR Technologist.
  • Manages inventory and ensure that all necessary supplies and materials are available and properly stocked.
  • Orders supplies as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels, ensuring the smooth operation of procedures.
  • Works closely with the interventional radiology team, including radiologists, nurses, and other technologists, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns.
  • Participates in ongoing education, training sessions, and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in interventional radiology techniques and technologies.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned to support the department's operational needs.
  • This position will provide as needed coverage in the AMI Galloway and Somerdale Vascular Institute locations. Available shifts include weekdays, with shift times of 7am-5:30pm and 8am-4:30pm. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs.
