About The Position

Cambria Somerset Radiology & Nuclear Medicine Group is an independently owned successful practice of 47 years comprised of 8 full-time and 3 part-time board certified, sub-specialty trained Radiologists including a full IR service providing care for Cambria and Somerset Counties in Western Pennsylvania. We are the only private radiology practice in the area and own and operate a successful specialized vein center in the hospital. Our Interventional service performs the full gamut of interventional procedures, some of which include radioembolization, thermal ablation, TIPS, arterial and venous stenting, uterine fibroid embolizations, and a full scope of spine services from epidurals to joint ablation, and all forms of percutaneous augmentation (including vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, spine jack as well as SI joint fusion). We have a comprehensive varicose vein practice (Vein Center), perform aortic aneurysm endoleak repair. We also perform basic bread and butter IR including feeding tube insertion, nephrostomy, biliary and abscess drainage as well as peripheral access with midline, picc lines, chest ports, and dialysis catheter insertion. We have 3 excellent PA's supporting our clinical service. We have a full clinic in which we see patients pre and post procedure; they round on the patients daily so that we can manage inpatient issues directly. The PAs also perform many of our minor procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis and thyroid biopsies and others. We have 2 Siemens Artis Zee procedure rooms, of which one is a biplane, with a third GE room for smaller procedures. CSR is contracted with Conemaugh Health System, a Duke Lifepoint Hospital located in Johnstown, PA. The local network of hospitals CSR serves consists of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, which is a 537-bed tertiary care level 1 trauma facility and flagship hospital, 3 satellite hospitals (Miners, Meyersdale and Nason) and Conemaugh East Hills outpatient facility, housing diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine), laboratory services and physician offices. The IR service only operates at Memorial Medical center and requires no driving between hospitals. Conemaugh Memorial has a Regional Trauma 1 center with residency programs in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Surgery and Emergency Medicine. There are teaching programs in Nursing, Radiology Technology and Allied Health. LifePoint has invested $250 million dollars into the health system. A recently opened outpatient medical center has a full radiology footprint including a 3.0 Tesla and a 1.5 Tesla open MRI, two CT scanners, a GE 128-slice Revolution and a 40-slice CT, Ultrasound, as well as an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual who wants to practice high quality radiology in a large teaching institution, while in a stable, secure environment and using state-of-the-art equipment. Our practice offers the best of both worlds, that is a challenging and satisfying scope of practice, coupled with a private practice lifestyle. Most workdays are 7:00am-4:30pm. Call is shared evenly between the IR radiologists with no general call responsibility. There are moonlighting opportunities for doing extra image interpretation on weekends. The practice fosters and maintains excellent working relationships with referring physicians and hospital administration.
