About The Position

The UTRGV SOM is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Interventional Radiologist to provide both clinical (non-teaching) and academic interventional and diagnostic radiology services. Clinical responsibilities will include outpatient interventional and diagnostic radiology services and may include in-patient services. Academic responsibilities may include teaching residents/medical students in the outpatient clinical setting and in the classroom. Participation in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and other administrative and program committees are expected. Also, preparation and presentation of program didactics, grand rounds, and assisting with undergraduate medical education will be assigned at the Chair's discretion. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.

Requirements

  • M.D. degree or equivalent
  • Board certified or board eligible in Radiology (American Board of Radiology in Interventional Radiology)
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License
  • Five (5) years experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department
  • Demonstrable record of collaboration and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring faculty
  • Ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Regional or emerging reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Responsibilities
