About The Position

We are currently seeking an experienced and patient-focused Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) with Interventional Radiology experience to join a dynamic healthcare team. This role places a strong emphasis on direct patient treatment, procedural support, and collaboration with physicians during minimally invasive interventional procedures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident in a fast-paced procedural environment, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in Interventional Radiology or as an RT with hands-on IR experience in a hospital or acute care setting
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • ARRT Certification (R)
  • California Department of Public Health (CRT)
  • California Fluoroscopy Permit (required)
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
  • Proof of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs), if applicable
  • Proof of MMR and Varicella vaccinations or titers
  • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 months
  • Current Annual Health Clearance
  • Reliable source of transportation

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during interventional radiology procedures, including vascular and non-vascular treatments.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment to provide real-time imaging guidance during direct treatment procedures.
  • Scrub and circulate during interventional procedures as required by department protocols.
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety practices, sterile technique, and infection control standards.
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition.
  • Prepare contrast media, supplies, and equipment needed for interventional cases.
  • Accurately document procedures, patient care, and imaging data in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Perform equipment quality control checks and report malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training related to interventional radiology practices and technology advancements.
