About The Position

The Interventional Radiologic Technologist performs invasive radiographic procedures at an intermediate skills level. This position is PRN/Per Diem, with a varied schedule during day shifts. The technologist will work under the direct supervision of a physician and will be responsible for administering intravenous contrast media, recognizing complications, and scrubbing with the physician as required. The role also involves scheduling cases, positioning and transferring patients, and practicing radiation safety procedures. The technologist will be on call, train new staff, and maintain written documentation as required by the profession and department. Additionally, the technologist will perform duties as a Radiographer as needed.

Requirements

• 1 year relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
• Registered Technologist-Bone Densitometry - ARRT upon hire or equivalent ARRT certification in other specified areas.

Responsibilities

• Performs interventional and endovascular procedures.
• Administers intravenous contrast media under physician supervision.
• Recognizes and treats complications such as contrast reactions.
• Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
• Positions and transfers patients comfortably.
• Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
• Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.
• Serves as on-call technologist.
• Trains new staff as needed.
• Prepares and maintains written documentation as required.
• Performs duties of Radiographer as needed.
