Under basic supervision, contacts students with unexcused absences from school/classes; intervenes with student to resolve attendance issues, and maintains case files on offenders. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Contacts students with unexcused absences from school and from classes; interviews student to determine nature of absences; completes paperwork and develops case file. Contacts teachers, counselors, and parents, and develops intervention strategies; monitors students for rules infractions, updates case files, and coordinates intervention activities. Provides a variety of student support and administrative duties; cross-trains in other MPS functions; updates and maintains electronic and paper files, records, reports, and documents. Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
