About The Position

Roosevelt Charter Academy is seeking a dedicated Intervention Teacher to provide targeted academic support to students who need additional assistance in reading, math, or other core subjects. The ideal candidate will implement research-based intervention strategies, collaborate with teachers and staff, and track student progress to ensure academic growth and success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, or a related field.
  • Candidate must be or able to be endorsed in content area, passed the PLACE or Praxis test in the content area, and/or have 24 semester credit in the content area to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) "highly qualified" status.
  • Experience in intervention programs, reading and math instruction, or working with students who need academic support.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, assessment tools, and progress monitoring strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs, is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing effective intervention strategies to assist students performing below grade level in core subjects such as reading and math.
  • Utilizing data-driven instruction and assessments to identify learning needs and monitor student progress.
  • Providing small-group and individualized instruction
  • Collaborating with teachers and specialists to align interventions with core instruction
  • Employing evidence-based methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and staff about instructional strategies and student outcomes.
  • Creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student confidence and engagement is essential.
  • Participation in professional development is expected to remain updated on best practices, while also supporting school-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing overall student achievement.
