Job Description: The Intervention Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties involved in carrying out general and specialized intervention programs as well as team member education regarding implementation and monitoring of these interventions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent (required)
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in human services is required for applicants without Bachelor’s Degree (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides information relative to assessment to all disciplines
  • Provides input into intervention plans in conjunction with appropriate discipline
  • Communicates effectiveness of interventions to appropriate discipline
  • Maintains orderly and appropriately stocked supplies and activities on unit
  • Facilitates implementation of daily activity schedule in conjunction with Program Coordinator
  • Provides training of intervention plans to various disciplines involved in patient care
  • Monitors implementation of intervention plans and provides feedback regarding plan implementation
  • Provides direct behavior therapy and active treatment programming on individual and/or group basis including proactive strategies and crisis intervention and models programming for all team members
  • Assists with maintaining a structured milieu
  • Collects, records, and enters data on observable patient behavior
  • Accepts participation in special projects and appointments to hospital committees as appropriate
  • Assists with floor coverage and other unit duties, as necessary
  • Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned
