About The Position

The Interpreter Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the logistics of language access resources to support Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients. This role involves scheduling interpreters, ensuring compliance with policies, and providing interpretation support as needed. The coordinator plays a key role in maintaining relationships with staff and vendors to enhance the quality of language access services.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to obtain Certification for Medical Interpretation within 6 months, paid for by AdventHealth.
  • Proficient in English and Spanish.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day scheduling of interpreters and manage last-minute requests to ensure responsiveness in language access services.
  • Maintain confidential data, including patient and language access information.
  • Support compliance with established policies and procedures, ensuring a safe workplace.
  • Manage interpreter resources effectively and respond to complaints or problems, escalating to the manager as needed.
  • Develop close working relationships with departmental team members, leaders, and vendors to ensure consistency and productivity.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation regarding interpreting services across the campus.
  • Maintain and evaluate data and reports to ensure correct scheduling and interpreter availability.
  • Perform quality control analysis on interpretations to ensure high standards of language access.
