Southcoast Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Responsibilities Position reports to the Manager, Interpreter Services or designee. Provide coverage on-site for Interpreter Services as requested. Provide accurate consecutive interpretation. Develop a rhythm of interpretation to enhance the flow of communication between parties. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of encounters.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in a related field is required.
- Training in medical terminology
- Interpersonal skills appropriate for handling sensitive patient and/or employee issues.
- Fluency in four (4) languages required, including English and three (3) assigned languages Cape Verdean Creole Portuguese Spanish
- One (1) year related experience preferred.
- Certificate of completion of a 60 hour Medical Interpreter Training program
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired .
