About The Position

TYPICAL DUTIES INCLUDE : Facilitate communication between the deaf or hard of hearing students and others in the educational environment. Provide sign language interpretive services for deaf and hard of hearing students, maintaining message content, context, and style as much as possible. Research terminology and information used to interpret/transliterate in classroom situations and college-related activities. Convey material effectively, accurately, and impartially, through the use of any necessary specialized vocabulary. Assist deaf and hard of hearing students to better comprehend the material presented. Maintain confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA ).
