About The Position

The Allan Myers Internship & Co-Op Programs are designed to give college students the opportunity to explore the heavy civil construction or construction materials industry through a variety of hands on, challenging, and well defined assignments. The length of each assignment is typically 3-6 months. During this time our interns & co-ops are exposed to projects in one or more of the following areas: site development, heavy highway, paving, asphalt and aggregate production, finance/accounting, safety, human resources, business development, and/or information, process, and technology. The AM Internship & Co-Op Programs provide college students with an opportunity to apply classroom learning to real world projects, gain work experience, and learn more about the Allan Myers organization. AM offers co-op and internship opportunities that are designed to provide students with valuable work experience, bridging the gap between academic theory and practice. Students are placed in positions related to their academic majors and career goals. Typical starting internship positions will be on a large public or private works projects, or at one of our material production facilities, or with our corporate service team. Our internship and co-op assignments are derived from the Career Track Program assignments creating a distinct connection and synergy between the Career Track Program and the Intern and Co-Op Programs. This enables students to gain similar experiences during their temporary employment that a Career Track Partner would in a full-time capacity. This direct connection also allows the interns and co-ops to accelerate their growth with the organization once employed in the Career Track Program as they now possess many of the qualities and experiences necessary to be successful at AM.
