About The Position

Your internship adventure includes: Support individuals with social skills, communication, behavior needs, and daily living tasks. Help plan and run activities (games, sports, arts & crafts, swimming, music, exercise). Assist with personal care, including meals and toileting. Provide 1:1 and small-group instruction in self-care, communication, and motor skills. Help staff with activities, documentation, and case-related tasks. Plan and facilitate activities that build independence and social engagement. Internship Opportunities Available: Residential Services Charles River Center provides warm, loving and safe community-based group homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injury, physical disabilities and mental health challenges throughout MetroWest and Southeastern MA communities. Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Two opportunities available Program locations: Easton and Sharon, MA. Specific Hours: 8-hour weekly commitment, minimum 4-hour blocks Monday through Friday 8am-6pm Acquired Brain Injury: Two opportunities available Program locations: Easton and Sharon, MA. Specific Hours: 8-hour weekly commitment, minimum 4-hour blocks Monday through Friday 8am-6pm Day Habilitation Therapeutic Day Services: Two opportunities available Day Habilitation at Charles River Center provides a structured, goal-oriented program for adults with complex communication, medical and therapeutic needs. Our day habilitation program is housed in our spacious, updated building that is fully accessible with wide corridors leading to spacious, bright rooms, a fully accessible kitchen and large activity rooms. Program location: Needham, MA. Specific Hours: 8-hour weekly commitment, minimum 4-hour blocks Monday through Friday 8:15 am-4:15 pm

Requirements

  • 2.5 GPA or higher and in good academic standing
  • Open to Psychology, Health Science, Sociology majors
  • Junior and Senior applicants only (unless otherwise specified)
