Morrison County creates internships on a need basis. As interest arises, experiences are created. Funding is not always available and depending on the field of study, when and hours required an accommodation is not guaranteed. Please complete the following application so it can be determined if an internship can be accommodated. Nature of Work: Morrison County supports internship programs (paid or unpaid) that provide growth and learning opportunities to students in high school, college, and trade schools. Student interns are involved in education or training programs designed to provide students with professional experience in the furtherance of their education and training, and are academically oriented for their benefit. This requires structured assignments coupled with appropriate supervision, evaluation, and feedback. Internships assist students in reaching their educational goals by giving them the opportunity to augment classroom instruction with exposure to a real-world employment setting. This internship will offer public sector experiences related to the area of study. The intern will develop and must maintain good rapport with the public, employees, county departments and vendors and applicable organizations. It will also develop an overall understanding of county government and its operations. All new employees must attend orientation, including review of payroll paperwork, safety, county policies, and any other information pertinent to the internship
