About The Position

The engineer intern will support the development of Ride Systems as part of our Core Engineering group and gain exposure into what it takes to be part of an engineering team tasked to deliver a ride system. The ride systems intern will be asked to use engineering basics and principles to assist in the delivery of a ride system, while gaining an understanding of the responsibilities of an engineer and project manager in the themed entertainment industry. This includes the review & evaluation of designs against industry standards, review & revision of both internal & external standards, and new system strategy & development. Ride Systems covered as part of this mechanical engineering internship include: Coasters, dark rides, family rides, thrill rides and water rides. Beyond basic engineering tech skills, the intern will have numerous opportunities to use and refine soft skills, such as communication and coordination across a multidisciplinary team and the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Requirements

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Pursuing a degree in engineering with a preference given for mechanical or systems engineering
  • Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is required. A transcript is required upon application.
  • Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, with ability to interface with various departments, disciplines, and trades
  • Detail oriented with ability to orchestrate and execute multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess good organizational, analytical and problem solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong understanding of Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • 3 years of relevant course work that supports themed entertainment technologies.
  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2026.
  • Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
  • All of our internships are paid

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of understanding technical drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with 3D modeling programs, such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, BIM360, Navisworks.
  • Previous work with a prior company in Themed Entertainment Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with responsible individuals of varying ride and show scopes to execute project related tasks
  • Assist in delivery and execution of ride activities and milestones
  • Support creation and review of technical documents and drawings as needed
  • Assist in design review compliance and issue resolution
