About The Position

The School Psychologist Intern position at Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD) is designed for individuals enrolled in a Master's degree or higher school psychologist program. This internship provides practical experience under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist, focusing on cognitive, behavioral, and academic assessments for students aged birth through 21. Interns will engage in various learning experiences, including conducting evaluations, collaborating with educational teams, and assisting in report writing, all aimed at enhancing student learning and support.

Requirements

• Enrolled in an accredited Master's degree or higher school psychologist program.
• Enrolled in an internship class with a University Program Advisor.
• Demonstrated successful course completion in cognitive, behavioral, and academic testing and related skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual evaluations in cognitive, behavioral, and academic areas.
• Work collaboratively with the assigned intern supervisor to provide comprehensive written reports of observations, assessment results, and recommendations.
• Provide consultation and advice on behavior management and social skills to assist students in improving their behavior.
• Assist in coordinating efforts for consistent behavior and environment for the child.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in meeting deadlines and attending meetings.
• Maintain a variety of program records, files, and documents according to program standards.
