About The Position

BioMed Realty has a Property Accounting internship available in its San Diego Headquarters for students majoring or minoring in Accounting. This internship starts immediately and will continue throughout the summer and the fall semester if the student's schedule allows. Internship Objectives The Property Accounting Intern will assist with recording and reconciling operating related activity. Responsibilities are expected to include posting journal entries, processing invoices, performing end of month balance sheet reconciliations and assisting with the month-end close process. Key Duties and Responsibilities Work alongside other accounting interns and recent college graduates. Learn from our more experienced team members, including Big 4 Alumni, CPAs, and best-in-class leaders in the real estate accounting community. Participate in company-wide and departmental social events; recent events include a sailing event, Padres game, a catered taco luncheon, and a company BBQ. Apply accounting theory from college course-work to real-world transactions at a leading provider of real estate in San Diego. Research and evaluate emerging A.I. tools for accounting related functions. Collaborate with cross‑functional team members to identify opportunities for A.I. usage and adoption. Job Specifications Accounting major or minor Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week Open to sophomores and juniors Schedule The Property Accounting Intern is expected to be in the San Diego office Monday-Thursday, per the agreed upon work schedule within our business hours of 8AM-5PM. A minimum of 20 hour/week is required during Spring & Fall semesters or quarters and up to 40 hours per week during the Summer; requirements may be adjusted depending on the needs of the department.
