About The Position

The Internship Program at UL, LLC offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in Wireless Testing Technical Support. Interns will work closely with laboratory teams focused on Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), Radio Frequency (RF), and Millimeter Wave (mmWave) testing of wireless devices. This role is designed for college students who are eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic, customer-focused environment while upholding stringent quality control measures.

Requirements

• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, OPT, or CPT).
• An incoming freshman or higher-level college student studying any field.
• At least 18 years of age at the time of application.
• No prior experience needed; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Ability to work onsite in Fremont, CA.

Responsibilities

• Perform SAR testing of wireless devices using automated robot-assisted testing.
• Conduct hands-on testing of wireless devices using state-of-the-art test equipment.
• Set up hardware configurations of test systems and apply software automated tools for mmWave testing.
• Evaluate test performance and sample operation to assess test results accurately.
• Record and explain test results, completing test reports for Engineering staff.
• Examine customer samples and learn to operate basic tests for each case.
• Follow defined test plans and datasheets during testing procedures.
• Communicate with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
• Develop a working knowledge of job methods, instrumentation, and systems.
