About The Position

This position is for a Production Engineer within the Production Engineering department at the Wilton Factory in Wilton, CT. In this role, the engineer will collaborate closely with cross‑sector teams to industrialize Wilton Factory processes through workflow optimization, tooling enhancements, and increased process automation. The selected candidate will also play a key role in driving operational excellence by identifying bottlenecks, implementing data‑driven improvements, and ensuring that new technologies and methods are successfully introduced into a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Candidate for Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Must display a solid understanding of complicated manufacturing assemblies
  • Working knowledge with mechanical diagrams and technical specification documents.
  • Working knowledge of servo and mechanical control systems
  • Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility and follow through
  • Possess strong ownership characteristics – demonstrated commitment to achieving results on time
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate effectively to your team and to senior management
  • Focus on quality and continuous improvements
  • Demonstrated “team player” with a quality orientation and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge with complicated multi-disciplinary (Electro-Mechanical) assembly is a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience with integrated Hardware/Software testers
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux/Python/ or MATLAB software languages is a plus
  • Working knowledge of NX, Teamcenter, and SAP software is a plus
  • Working knowledge with vacuum systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support process industrialization activities within the Wilton Factory by assisting Production Engineers in developing and improving manufacturing workflows.
  • Participate in end‑to‑end development of tooling that enables workcenters to reduce CT (cycle time) and increase operational efficiency
  • Observe daily factory operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and recurring failure modes that impact throughput or quality.
  • Propose and prototype automation opportunities within production workflows to improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and increase CT performance.
  • Support the development and testing of automated solutions such as jigs, fixtures, scripts, or semi‑automated processes.
