About The Position

We are currently recruiting for an internship located at our office in Wilton, CT. Your Assignment This position is for a Production Engineering First Line Support (FLS) Intern with an innovative attitude. The intern will provide support to the mechanical/mechatronics production engineering team, including: Data analysis, procedure writing, factory floor troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects. Spending time in the cleanroom providing direct support to production processes and conducting time studies when needed. Working in an office environment on continuous improvement and process development for production. Projects are tailored to candidate skills and can include: Automation enhancements and programming Tooling and design improvements Cycle time reduction initiatives Supporting troubleshooting and improvement of mechanical assembly and alignment issues, module testing, final quality concerns, and manufacturing tooling challenges. Performing analysis on mechanical performance data and deriving actionable conclusions. Evaluating and dispositioning failed parts with proposed solutions. Assisting in the development of manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions, as well as participating in design and document reviews.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. (minimum of 3 years completed)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, NX) and mechanical design principles.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to learn and apply new information quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and communicate solutions effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of mechatronic systems, actuators, sensors, and precision motion control is a plus.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Python is beneficial.
