About The Position

The internship will provide hands-on experience in the operations, management, and logistics of tanker vessels. You will have the opportunity to work closely with professionals in the maritime industry, assisting with the coordination of shipping operations, safety management, and environmental compliance. The role will expose you to the complexities of tanker operations, from the point of cargo loading to unloading, as well as the broader context of international shipping regulations.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of maritime operations or a related field (logistics, shipping, engineering).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (an asset).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the coordination and scheduling of tanker operations.
• Track the progress of shipments and monitor vessel positions.
• Help prepare reports on delivery status and schedules.
• Support the planning and execution of cargo loading and unloading procedures.
• Learn about the various types of cargo handled by tankers (e.g., oil, chemicals, LNG).
• Familiarize with international maritime safety standards and regulations such as SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships).
• Assist in ensuring tanker vessels comply with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
• Gain exposure to the maintenance processes of tanker vessels, including hull inspections and safety equipment checks.
• Work alongside engineers and crew to ensure operational readiness.
• Analyze data related to fuel consumption, emissions, and performance metrics.
• Assist with compiling reports for regulatory bodies and internal teams.
• Assist in communicating with clients, shipping companies, and port authorities to ensure smooth operations.
