About The Position

National Gypsum is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our IT Operations team. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas of IT, including service desk operations, network communications, and cybersecurity. The intern will work closely with IT professionals to support day-to-day operations, troubleshoot issues, and assist with technology projects that keep our business running smoothly.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office 365 environments.
• Interest in networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) and/or cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring and maintaining network communication systems, including LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure.
• Support cybersecurity initiatives such as vulnerability assessments, endpoint protection, and patch management.
• Document technical processes and create user guides for recurring issues and resolutions.
• Collaborate with IT staff on projects related to IT service management, systems upgrades, and security improvements.
• Participate in incident response activities under supervision, including root cause analysis and preventive action planning.
