About The Position

The Mental Health Internship Program at Catholic Charities offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on clinical experience while providing compassionate mental health services to individuals and families in need. Interns will manage their own client caseload under the supervision of experienced clinicians, contributing to the Community Counseling Program that addresses various mental health challenges. This role emphasizes professional growth, mentorship, and the importance of culturally competent care.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a master's degree program in Social Work or a related field.
  • Commitment to a minimum of two consecutive semesters or ideally a one-year commitment.
  • Availability of 10 to 24 hours per week during office hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM).

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-office psychotherapy and counseling under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
  • Maintain case documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated clinical team and benefit from direct mentorship and supervision.
  • Participate in training and discussions aimed at developing culturally competent and empathetic care practices.
