About The Position

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers - the world's leading chipmakers - to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. The mission of the Mechanical Engineering Intern at ASML is to learn about ASML's products and create an innovative solution to a real problem that we are facing using the latest technology and manufacturing techniques. You will work on Droplet Generator technology within the EUV Light Source program, transforming concepts into tested hardware with guidance from experienced engineers and scientists. Quality is paramount, and you will clearly demonstrate your impact with data. This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology. You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of two years of coursework completed.
  • Proficient in using 3D CAD software, with a preference for Nx.
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles.
  • Experienced in processing and visualizing large data sets.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute designs from concept through to hands-on testing and build.

Responsibilities

  • Generate design and testing concepts to achieve the desired goals.
  • Perform 3D mechanical design of components.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis at system and subsystem levels.
  • Perform analytical analysis for thermal and structural components and sub-modules.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and CAD designers for prototype and pilot detailed design.
  • Coordinate with machine shops or other suppliers to manufacture and procure custom hardware.
  • Interact closely with development engineers, scientists, suppliers, and QA to resolve product and quality issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
