About The Position

The Mechanical Design Engineering Internship involves assisting with the planning, developing, evaluating, and coordinating activities for the organization under the direction of a manager. The intern will support internal reporting and data collection, assist Design Engineers with developing connector systems based on customer input, production specifications, and test data, and leverage various tools and technology to analyze data and identify trends. The role also includes assisting the team with designing tools for making components for assembly, performing root cause analysis, and proposing recommendations. The intern will work with cross-functional teams consisting of several different internal and external departments.

Requirements

  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format and effectively present information to top management
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Current enrollment in a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent and have at least a junior status
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (Official Transcript May be Requested)
