Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or above in a Marketing or Communications undergraduate program. Recent graduates are eligible if graduation occurred within the past year.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and give presentations.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate with employees and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing, communications, business development, and operations teams to effectively support various marketing initiatives as you learn about the electrical construction industry
  • Assist with proposal development, photo editing, database entries, populating marketing archives, etc.
  • Create/update brochures, resumes, presentations, and other marketing materials, according to brand guidelines (using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Design custom graphics and capture photo/video for various promotional materials
  • Write engaging content for social media, website, proposals, and newsletters
  • Support customer events
  • Participation in the Lunch & Learn internship program provided by the MYR Group Internship Leadership team.
  • Prior to the end of their internship, the intern will create and present a self-reflection project detailing their gained industry knowledge, future career goals, as well as personal and professional growth. The presentation will be provided in PowerPoint and presented to their direct management team.
