About The Position

Tesla is seeking highly motivated post-secondary interns to join our Manufacturing Engineering team for the Powertrain & Energy Products division. This internship is expected to start around January or February 2025 and will continue through the entire Spring term, potentially extending into Spring/Summer 2025 if available. We require a minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. It is important for applicants to consider their ability to work 40 hours per week on-site, especially for international students whose work authorization may be limited during the academic year. The Internship Program at Tesla is designed to recognize and develop emerging talent. Our year-round program places the best students in positions where they will grow technically, professionally, and personally through their experience working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team. Interns will be included in projects that are critical to their team's success, providing a comprehensive experience of life at Tesla. Interns will work closely with Tesla's internal Product Design, Operations, Facilities, Production, and Quality Engineering teams. They will coordinate cross-functional design activities with tool vendors to develop new manufacturing equipment for Drive Units, Power Electronics, or Global Battery systems. Interns will assume full ownership of the design and technical transfer of the line's tools to Tesla Operations, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and output. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative manufacturing processes and high-volume automation equipment.
