The Position Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS) offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world. Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future, and drive change from within? As an intern, you will contribute to NovaSTEMina, a global pilot initiative designed to expand pathways into STEM for Black women,girls and underrepresented communities through mentorship, leadership development, and resource redistribution. The project aims to address systemic barriers in STEM by creating structured support networks, improving access to educational resources, and building a foundation for a scalable, long-term equity model. Within your first 3 months, you are expected to help coordinate a mentorship pilot, support the delivery of leadership workshops, facilitate the distribution of STEM kits to under-resourced schools, and contribute to an impact dashboard with recommendations for future scale-up. Your work will support Roche’s commitment to equitable access to innovation by helping strengthen representation, confidence, and opportunity in STEM for underserved communities. This internship offers a rare opportunity to help shape the operational blueprint for a high-impact global equity initiative.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s or PhD studies at a university, preferably in a STEM field, Education, Equity Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, Data Analytics, Systems Thinking, Public Policy, Diversity Initiatives, or International Development within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months.
  • Comfortable with data management tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, or Airtable and experienced in tracking and organizing programme data
  • Familiar with project management platforms such as Trello, Asana, or Monday.com and able to coordinate timelines and stakeholders effectively
  • Confident in using communication and survey tools such as Outlook, Google Docs, Zoom, Teams, Google Forms, or SurveyMonkey
  • Able to write clear reports, create structured materials, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • A structured, collaborative, and proactive self-starter with a strong commitment to equity and inclusion
  • English is required

Nice To Haves

  • French, Spanish, or Portuguese is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of STEM professionals from Roche and external networks to serve as mentors
  • Analyze mentee profiles and help match mentors and mentees based on field, career goals, and lived experience
  • Coordinate mentorship schedules, communications, and structured engagement throughout the pilot
  • Collaborate on the planning and delivery of leadership workshops focused on navigating barriers in STEM, building confidence, and exploring innovation-driven career pathways
  • Support the coordination of STEM kit distribution to under-resourced schools and collect feedback on how the resources are being used
  • Track programme outcomes such as mentorship engagement, workshop participation, and resource utilization
  • Develop and populate an impact dashboard with key metrics, findings, and evidence-based recommendations for scaling
  • Help create a practical career pathway resource pack for mentees, including application guidance, CV templates, and strategies for overcoming systemic barriers in STEM
