As an HR Intern, you’ll gain real-world experience in recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement while supporting a mission-driven nonprofit. Requirements

  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Interest in recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ATS or HRIS a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Post open positions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and conduct professional reference checks.
  • Coordinate job fairs and hiring events: send invitations, manage logistics, and support candidates.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, including setting up HRIS records, co-leading orientations, preparing materials, and completing I-9 documentation.
  • Create and audit employee files to ensure HR and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to the planning and coordination of the Summer RISE Program for high school students exploring careers in mental health.
  • Edit and update job descriptions across the organization.
