Security Benefit is searching for a talented and enthusiastic student for an internship to join our Human Resources team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our Topeka or Overland Park, Kansas office. Requirements

• Full-time Student in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology, or Sociology.
• Undergraduate or Graduate Student.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Good understanding of HR principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Good communication skills and able to work with a lot of different teams.
• Someone who wants hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and benchmark metrics from external sources to support HR initiatives.
• Assist in forecasting and preparing various HR reports using collected data and metrics.
• Gain an understanding of the components involved in market pricing jobs.
• Assist in development of job descriptions and job ads.
• Understand the administration of 401k plans.
• Learn about the setup and overview of job assignments.
• Support various recruiting activities, including candidate sourcing and interview coordination.
• Engage in the interactive dialogue process for ADA workplace accommodations.
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions to understand covered benefits.
• Participate in various HR projects and initiatives.
