About The Position

INEOS Enterprises is a global market leader in the production of intermediary chemicals that are used as an essential input into chemical value chains across a broad variety of end markets and sectors. INEOS Joliet is part of the INEOS Enterprises portfolio. INEOS Joliet is a leading producer of chemical intermediates. At our site in Channahon, Illinois (about 40 miles southwest of Chicago) we produce two products: Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA) and Maleic Anhydride (MAN). This internship is a paid opportunity. Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university or a Process Control and Instrumentation Technology program.
  • Completion of minimum 1 year of courses.
  • 3.0 or greater GPA out of 4.0 is required.
  • Strong basic troubleshooting skills with knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment such as Motor Control Centers, Control Valves, Process Measuring and Transmitting equipment, transformers, and UPS battery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a key member of the Maintenance, Technology, or Reliability Teams providing day-to-day technical service.
  • Complete small design projects for repair and/or replacement of electrical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Serve on teams to address equipment reliability, safety, and design initiatives.
  • Interface with operations, maintenance, technology, reliability team, and construction personnel to troubleshoot, optimize and ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Maintain compliance and integrity management of the equipment in the assets, including issuing authorization for equipment operation and testing.
  • Participate in project activities including scoping, prioritization, preliminary and detailed electrical equipment design, and arc flash study support.
  • Support start-up activities, post audit evaluations, and completion of proper documentation.
  • Participate in safety studies such as HAZOP studies and Process Hazard analysis (PHA).
  • Drive the Management of Change (MOC) process on small capital projects.
  • Issue packages to isolate and complete repair to electrical equipment.
  • Provide estimates and designs for small capital jobs and serve as lead engineer for implementation of small project and expense jobs.
  • Participate as a member of large capital and new technology groups for optimization and improvement of operating processes.
  • Serve as a supporting engineer during preventative maintenance tasks or small projects.
