About The Position
The Analysis Engineer Internship at Tesla offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic environment of vehicle and powertrain engineering. This internship is expected to start around January or February 2025 and will continue through the entire Spring term, potentially extending into Spring/Summer 2025 if available. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, working full-time and on-site, which is crucial for the success of the internship program. The program is designed to foster technical, professional, and personal growth by immersing interns in critical projects that contribute to the team's success. Interns will be involved in various projects that support the design and production of current and future Tesla products. They will utilize CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) simulation tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to develop vehicle structures, assess crash safety, durability, fatigue, and battery safety performance. Additionally, interns will collaborate with Design Engineering teams to analyze the performance of future designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models, and enhance the predictive capabilities of Analysis Engineering at Tesla. This role will also involve building models calibrated by test data, analyzing test data, and providing detailed feedback to component designers regarding thermal, hydraulic, and electrical performance. The internship program at Tesla is not just about technical skills; it also emphasizes the importance of mentorship and collaboration.
