The Internship in Accounting & Finance at Tesla is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or related fields. This internship is expected to start in January 2025 and will continue through the Spring term, potentially extending into early Summer 2025. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks of full-time work, which is essential for gaining comprehensive experience in the field. The program aims to provide interns with significant exposure to various aspects of accounting and finance, allowing them to grow both technically and personally through hands-on projects that are critical to the team's success. Interns will have the opportunity to work in several key areas, including Fixed Assets, Warranty/Manufacturing Costs, and Business Analytics. In the Fixed Assets area, interns will gain an understanding of fixed asset accounting and lifecycle management, participate in annual confirmations, and assist with process improvements and system automation. The Warranty Costs segment will involve controlling warranty costs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost reduction, and ensuring compliance with SOX 404 regulations. The Business Analytics team will provide interns with the chance to engage in operational analysis, business intelligence, data engineering, and data science, converting raw data into actionable insights and automation. This internship is not just about technical skills; it also emphasizes the importance of building relationships with business partners and accounting peers, preparing accounting schedules, and addressing reporting needs. Interns will be mentored closely by their managers and will have the chance to contribute to projects that have a real impact on Tesla's operations.
