About The Position

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Marin Community Clinics! Our clinics depend on volunteers who generously give their time, free of charge, supporting our medical and dental clinics. Volunteers may choose to volunteer at any of our clinics in Larkspur, Greenbrae, San Rafael, or Novato. Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all. Please note that due to the high number of applications we receive daily we are unable to reply to everyone with status of their application. We have limited number of opportunites, but we do our best to place volunteers in different areas of the clinics. When completing the online application, please make sure you answer all the screening questions as this help us to better understand what you are looking for. Once we receive your application and screening questions, we will then distribute to our Clinic Directors at our various clinics. If opportunities and spaces are available, you will be contacted by one of our staff members.

Requirements

• Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
• Must be able to provide proof of required immunizations.
• Might be asked to pass a background check if volunteer opportunity includes direct patient contact and/or access to Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English written and verbally.
• Must be sensitive to a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedules depending on the volunteer assignment.
• Ability to travel to different MCC clinics as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English-Spanish or English-Vietnamese is highly desired, but not required.
• Previous experience working in a health-care organization a plus, but not required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office: Word & Excel highly preferred for computer related volunteer opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Interns/Externs/Volunteers/Contract Providers perform assigned tasks directly by the Clinic or Medical Directors.
